Chery Malaysia successfully resolves Omoda 5 axle Issue

KUALA LUMPUR: Chery Auto Malaysia has swiftly addressed and resolved a safety issue with an Omoda 5 model after a customer's complaint went viral on Facebook. The complaint highlighted a concerning incident where the rear axle beam appeared to malfunction, pushing the rear wheel into the car's body. The company promptly issued an official statement, ensuring that the problem has been thoroughly investigated and corrected to safeguard customer safety.

Issue and Immediate Response: Upon receiving the report, Chery Auto conducted a thorough investigation and found that the issue was an isolated incident. However, with a strong commitment to safety, the company replaced the affected part and subjected the vehicle to rigorous quality control checks to ensure the problem was fully resolved. The company stated, "We have promptly addressed this concern by replacing the rear axle beam component and
conducting comprehensive quality control tests on the affected vehicle. We can confirm that the matter has been successfully resolved."

Precautionary Measures for Potentially Affected Vehicles: Further investigations revealed that approximately 600 vehicles might be impacted due to modifications during a facility upgrade. As a precaution, Chery Auto Malaysia is proactively contacting owners of vehicles with the specific Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) to arrange for detailed inspections and necessary repairs to ensure there are no further issues.
