Helping hands: 50 vehicles given to fire victims

The initiative was announced on 2 April (a day after the incident), and just two days later, the company delivered the first batch of 25 vehicles. The remaining 25 units were handed over to the final group of recipients on April 9. The one-month vehicle loan also includes RM 100 in fuel assistance for each recipient.

Aims to assist families who have lost their homes and means of transport, the Temporary Vehicle Assistance Programme is part of Chery’s ongoing commitment to support local communities during times of crisis.

To ensure a smooth and timely rollout of the programme and distribution of vehicles, Chery Corporate Malaysia collaborated with the offices of Selangor Menteri Besar YAB  Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Selangor State Executive Councillor for Investment, Trade and Mobility YB Ng Sze Han, and the local authorities.

Donates RM 50,000 to the Putra Heights Mosque

It not only lent vehicles but also extended support in other ways. For example, it donated RM 50,000 to the Putra Heights Mosque, a temporary evacuation centre that shelters over 80 affected families. The donation will help cover rising utility and operational costs.

“We extend our heartfelt support to all families affected and hope our efforts have provided some comfort and mobility during this difficult time,” says Chery Malaysia. Such a generous act reiterates its commitment to being a responsible and compassionate community member rather than just a carmaker.
