Debut In Advance: New Flagship SUV Mercedes-Benz GLS

Kuala Lumpur: Los Angeles Auto Show 2015- Mercedes-Benz GLS debuts ahead of its time, where a couple of press images of this model have been leaked online. The images were scanned from an official Mercedes-Benz brochure which have been uploaded on the French forum World Scoop, it reveals the exterior styling of the GLS, which is renamed and heavily revised successor to the hulking-GL.

For the moment, GL's successor has disclosed merely 3 images. It flaunts precise angles with the clean cut appearance which is conspicuous in the new front grille, front bumper and headlamp designs. Around the rear, the treatment is symmetrically in check with Merc’ latest models, with new tail light graphics and a reworked rear bumper.

The images pertaining to the interior design have not been divulged up to this point. However as per the actuality, Mercedes-Benz has replicated the conventional designs for the cabins of its ML (renamed to become GLE) and GL (renamed to become GLS) models. It accommodates the features like the new GLE: free-standing central display screen, COMAND Online infotainment system with a rotary dial and touchpad, a banging audio system and premium upholstery. The seats are competent for seven and besides this the comfort front is not being compromised.

The GLS 350d with a 3.0 litre twin-turbodiesel V6 is expected to deliver maximum power of 258 PS and peak torque of 620 Nm. While the GLS 400 petrol variant is in line to offer a 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6 with maximum power of 333 PS and peak torque of 480 Nm. A 435 PS and 700 Nm torque variant GLS 500 can be expected as well. In few markets, Mercedes-Benz may also offer a four-cylinder diesel version and it’s relatively assertive that a version of the of 2.0-litre turbo petrol plug-in hybrid that powers the current C 350e will also be offered in the sizable SUV, which will offer a maximum power of 210 PS and peak torque of 350 Nm .

The AMG versions of the GLS is at par with the capability to deliver up to 585 PS. In context with fuel effectiveness, its not a distant perspective that GLS 500e plug-in hybrid model could shows its presence in the market in no time. Similar to the outgoing Mercedes GL, the GLS will locally assemble at the company’s factory in Chakan, Pune.

So it is all ready to make a public appearance at the LA motor show next month and will be on sale in the starting months of 2016. The GLS is anticipated to form the foundation of the 1st Maybach Branded SUV to turn neck and leading business players.
