Ford Ranger gets a new ‘Sports & off-road accessory kit’

KUALA LUMPUR: While the Ford Ranger lineup available in Brazil has one of the most global-market attractive versions, the Ranger Storm; the company recently launched a new off-road appearance package for the buyers of the plain base model. By opting for the new accessory kit, they can add on some hardcore flavour to their regular model for a similar look to that of the Storm. 

Dubbed as ‘Sports & Off-Road Accessory Kit,’ the new pack features both visual upgrades and performance improvements for a cheaper price. It comprises a raptor-style front grille with the bold “RANGER” letters, fender flares, a sturdy bed cover, some side steps, and performance-oriented Scorpion AT Plus tyres. Moreover, an optional snorkel is also on offer for both the 3.2- and 2.2-litre turbodiesel engines, which will enable fording up to 800 mm of water.

As compared to the Ranger Storm, the biggest difference lies in the front fascia, i.e., “STORM” script on the front grille.

With some of the compelling features on board, the new accessory kit provides an offer to buyers to make their truck different at a lower price point. All the parts offered in the package are from OEM, thus no quality issues will be there. Another worth noting fact is that the new grille will fit any 2020 or 2019 Ranger, which means buyers of slightly older trucks can also opt for this.

 

Exclusively available in the Brazil market, the new Ranger accessory kit is expected to go on sale shortly.

Coming to the home market, Ford Ranger comes in different variants including automatic and manual versions of XL, XLT, XLT+, and Wildtrak. Ford Malaysia also rolled out the new Ranger FX4 in June this year, which is based on the Ranger XLT. The special edition kits include dress-up bits as well as accessories, including a new mesh grille design, body coloured bumpers, 18-inch ebony black alloys, a 3D tailgate Ranger decal, and so on.
