G20 BMW 3 Series launched in Malaysia, priced at RM 328,800

KUALA LUMPUR: New G20 BMW 3 Series arrived in Malaysia. Prior to this, the company posted a teaser video of this car on its social media page a week ago, which indicated towards its launch. Along with the information, the registration link was also activated. This seventh-gen car made its international debut last year in October. In Malaysia, BMW will offer a single variant of G20 3 Series.

As mentioned before, BMW G20 3 Series will be available in a single variant option called 330i M Sport. The car is priced at RM 328,800 (without insurance) including five years unlimited warranty alongside free scheduled service.

When compared to its predecessor, the new sports sedan is notably larger. The length and width receive 76 mm and 16 mm increment, respectively, while the wheelbase is now 41 mm longer. BMW has also enhanced the poise and agility of the vehicle by increasing the track width, both at the front and rear. Moreover, the sports car is 55 kg lighter than its predecessor, thanks to the use of aluminium and high-strength steels. The high-quality metal and alloy increase the overall rigidity of the chassis by 25 percent.

The front of the car features a double bean-shaped grille, which is now joined in the middle. The shiny bezel of the grille shares the border with LED headlamps, which sport a notch at the bottom. The bonnet receives a number of strikes on its surface that highlight the sportier character of the sedan.

Moving to the back, one will find LED taillights that come in an L-shaped design. At the bottom end, the car equips a matte finished bumper with twin exhaust pipes on both sides.

Peeking inside, the car showcases a tall centre console which features a new control panel. Furthermore, there is a 10.25-inch centre screen alongside a completely digital instrument display. The whole infotainment system is also supported by the Intelligent Personal Assistant which is an AI backed utility that can learn user behaviour.

The 3 Series is powered by the new version of B48 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol mill that delivers a maximum power of 258 hp and a peak torque of 400 Nm. The vehicle can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph within 5.8 seconds.
