Lamborghini hits production record with 15,000th Urus

KUALA LUMPUR: The Lamborghini Urus was launched three years ago, and now the model has hit the 15,000th production milestone. Thus, becoming the highest produced Lamborghini in the shortest interval.

As for the 15,000th Urus, it belongs to a US-based customer and draws inspiration from the Urus Graphite Capsule. Finished in Grey Keres Matt Gery with Verde Scandal (bright lime green) tone, the car looks amazing. Further making the deal impressive are the massive 23-inch Taigete wheels with Verde Scandal highlights.

Open the door and you will be greeted by an equally impressive cabin featuring a dual-tone theme. While Nero Ade is the dominant tone, the bright-line green tone (Verde Scandal) is seen wrapped up on the steering wheel. It is seen on the centre tunnel, seat edges, door armrests, signature hexagonal Q-Citura stitching and embroidery. The look is completed by Alcantara seats and matte carbon-fibre black anodised aluminium trims.

Under the hood configuration remains the same - a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 mill that generates a maximum power of 650 PS along with a peak torque of 850 Nm. The power is sent to all four wheels via a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission.

On the performance front, the car touches the 100 kmph mark in 3.6 seconds and 200 kmph in 12.8 seconds. It attains a top speed of 305 kmph.

On a similar note, Lamborghini attained record sales in the first half of 2021 with 4,852 cars sold globally. The biggest contributor being the Urus SUV with 2,796 cars sold, followed by Huracan with 1,532 units, and Aventador with 524 units.
