Leaked official photos of 992-gen Porsche 911 pop up online

KUALA LUMPUR: Leaked official images of the all-new Porsche 911 have surfaced online just ahead of its official debut at the 2018 Los Angeles Motor Show. The vehicle is supposed to make its debut with a turbocharged motor across all the model lineup along with its hybrid version. The low-resolution pictures leaked gives a fair idea about what to expect from the vehicle in terms of external appearance.

The more athletic and muscular appearance of this new 992-gen Porsche 911 is well-spotted from the leaked image. The signature silhouette has been retained. The restyled rear and the front portion of the new car is visible. The front end features the iconic headlamps accompanied with four-point LED DRLs. The rear end is marked by an illuminated strip joining the tail lights. The revised rear end bumper houses the dual exhaust outlets distantly placed from one another.

Under the bonnet, it is expected that there will be a turbocharged flat-six powertrain mated to a new eight-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission. There is also a possibility of having a seven-speed manual gearbox as an option. The engine might continue to be positioned on the rear axle and come with both all-wheel as well as rear-wheel drivetrain options.

The hybrid version of the Porsche 911 is believed to come packed with the brand’s traditional flat-six motor and an electric powertrain. The tightening of the EU CO2 regulations made it necessary for the automaker to include a hybrid version in the model lineup.

The images do not showcase the interior of the vehicle and the detailed specification is missing too. If speculations are to be considered, the vehicle will receive new steering wheel design, switchgear and climate control unit inside. The 992 will house safety features like lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning system, etc.
