Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 and CLA 45 S Final Edition launched in Malaysia - RM723k & RM539k

KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has added two new AMG coupés to its local line-up: the all-new Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupé and the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4MATIC+ Coupé Final Edition.

The CLE 53 arrives as a fresh nameplate, while the CLA 45 S Final Edition marks the end of the current generation with exclusive trim and paint options. Both models are now officially available in Malaysia.

Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupé – price from RM722,888

At the heart of the new CLE 53 is a reworked 3.0-litre inline-six mild-hybrid engine. It makes 449 hp and 560 Nm of torque, with an overboost function briefly pushing it to 600 Nm. An integrated starter generator adds 23 hp and 205 Nm for short bursts, also powering the 48-volt system.

Power goes through a 9-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT automatic to the fully variable 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system. The car does 0–100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, with a limited top speed of 250 km/h (270 km/h with the optional AMG Driver’s Package).

Stopping power comes from ventilated and perforated front discs (370 mm) with four-piston calipers, while the rear runs 360 mm discs with single-piston calipers.

The CLE 53 rides on AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with adaptive damping. Rear-wheel steering up to 2.5 degrees sharpens agility at lower speeds, while also improving stability on highways.

Design-wise, the CLE 53 mixes C-Class agility with E-Class proportions. Features include the AMG grille, DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps, flared fenders, 20-inch AMG Y-spoke wheels, and quad tailpipes. Options include AMG Night Packages (black details), carbon fibre exterior trim, and a panoramic sunroof.

Inside, the cabin gets AMG Performance seats in ARTICO/MICROCUT upholstery with red stitching, a 12.3-inch driver display, and an 11.9-inch portrait-style infotainment screen running the latest MBUX. AMG-specific graphics, red seat belts, and carbon-fibre trim add to the ambience. Tech features include AMG TRACK PACE telemetry, a Burmester 3D sound system, and a head-up display.

Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S Final Edition – priced at RM538,888

The CLA 45 S continues with its 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 421 hp and 500 Nm, paired with AMG’s 4MATIC+ system. It sprints from 0–100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and reaches 270 km/h.

The Final Edition gets unique details to send off the model, including the AMG Night Package II with dark chrome trim, an exclusive MANUFAKTUR alpine grey paint option, and edition-specific badging. The fuel filler cap is finished in silver chrome with AMG lettering.

She added that the refreshed C 200 AMG Line also joins the line-up, continuing the C-Class’ presence in Malaysia.

Public showcase – AMG World of Performance

Both models will be on display at the AMG World of Performance event, running from 10–15 September at 1 Utama Shopping Centre, LUXE Ground Floor. Visitors can explore the AMG range – from the A 45 S hatchback to the new CLE 53 – and test drive selected models.
