Malaysia Autoshow 2024: Proton introduces X50 R3 Lite Accessories Package

KUALA LUMPUR: Proton is set to steal the limelight at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 with its S70 R3 racing car and the X50 R3 Lite Accessories Package. While we've already covered the racing sedan, let's dive into the details of the sports package for the B-segment SUV.

Designed to enhance the Proton X50’s aesthetic and functional appeal, the R3 Lite Accessories Package is exclusively available for the Premium and Flagship variants of the SUV. 

The key highlights of the X50 R3 Lite Accessories Package include: 

• R3 Sport body kit (front, rear, and sides)
• Red bonnet strip featuring a carbon fibre pattern
• Sport rear roof spoiler 
• R3 18-inch lightweight alloy wheels
• R3 front grille logo
• R3 Limited Edition rear tailgate emblem
• R3 headrests embroidery (driver and front passenger)
• R3 Limited Edition logo on the dashboard
• R3 carpets

Notably, there are no changes to the mechanical components. That means the sportier X50 comes powered by the same 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine, tuned to generate 177 PS of maximum power and 255 Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission.

Priced at RM 7,500, the X50 R3 Lite Accessories Package is available in limited quantities on a first-come, first-served basis.
