Mercedes-Benz Malaysia launches AMG GLC63 S and 63 S Coupe

KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia introduces performance SUVs, GLC 63 S, and the G63 S Coupe, at the Sepang International Circuit event. Pricing for the two ‘63’ models of the Mercedes-Benz GLC starts at RM 933,888 for the GLC 63 S Coupe and RM 915,888 for the GLC 63 S. Both the models made their first appearance globally in April 2017.

This globally renowned German luxury automobile marque claims GLC 63 and GLC 63S to be the very first vehicles in the segment to draw power from an eight-cylinder V8 petrol motor that delivers 503 hp at 5,500-6,250 rpm and produces a peak torque of around 700 Nm at 1,750-4,500 rpm. Both the models deliver a more aggressive engine performance compared to the 43 versions available in Malaysia. The 43 versions feature an M276 3.0-litre bi-turbo V6 engine that offers a peak power of 362 hp and churns out 520 Nm of torque.

The engine is paired with a 9-speed AMG Speedshift MCT automatic gearbox and AMG Performance 4MATIC+ AWD system with fully variable torque power distribution. These additions help the cars race from 0-100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds, which is 1.1 seconds faster than the older Mercedes GLC 43 models. They also come designed with high-performance AMG Sports suspension mated to notably adjustable dampers and high-performance composite braking system.

Regarding external designing, the AMG GLC63 and GLC63 Coupe look almost identical. They both rides on AMG 22-inch Cross-spoke forged wheels. The models flaunt aggressive-looking bumpers with huge intakes, dual tailpipes with chrome finish, and Panamericana grille. Other standard features include Multibeam LED headlights, a sunroof, AMG Night package, etc.

Inside the two Mercedes AMG 63 versions, the main attractions include Nappa leather-wrapped sport seats, thermotronic climate control system with dual-zone setup, Burmester sound system, COMAND digital infotainment system with touchpad, keyless operation and lumbar support power seats to name a few. In terms of safety, Driving Assistance package plus, Active lane keeping assist, surround view camera, active park, and brake assist are worth mentioning.
