New Volvo EX90 coming soon to Malaysia with faster charging and smarter safety

KUALA LUMPUR: Globally revealed in September last year, the all-new Volvo EX90 is ready to hit local shores. Yes, that’s right! Volvo Car Malaysia has announced that the upgraded EX90 is coming soon to Malaysia, with a range of meaningful upgrades.

2026 Volvo EX90: What’s new?

• The new EX90 will come with state-of-the-art 800V electrical architecture, replacing the 400-volt system. 

• This upgraded electrical foundation cuts down heat during charging, which means the electric SUV can now top up faster. In ideal conditions, the EV can add up to 250 km of range in just 10 minutes when connected to a 350 kW charger (up from 240 kW). AC charging remains limited at 11kW.
• The 800V setup brings more punch to the motors and better acceleration. The Twin Motor All-Wheel-Drive powertrain now churns out 680 PS and 870 Nm of torque. While the power increases from 517, the torque reduces from 910. Despite less torque, the acceleration time has reduced from 4.9 seconds to 4.2 seconds.
• While the appearance appears the same as before, the upgraded EV offers a dual NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin-based core computer, offering 500 trillion operations per second. The enhanced processing power enables AI-driven safety and driver-support features via software updates.
