Next-gen Toyota Vellfire and Alphard leaked before June 2023 debut

KUALA LUMPUR: Upcoming month will see the unveiling of several amazing cars including the 2023 Toyota Vellfire and Alphard. Apart from the news, what got us excited are the handful of leaked images that reveal a few details about the upcoming Toyota cars.

Both the upcoming third-gen Vellfire MPV and fourth-gen Alphard MPV are based on the new Lexus LM and were showcased in April.

Let us discuss the new Toyota Vellfire, Alphard in detail -

Exterior

The two upcoming Toyota cars showcase fewer visual differences, however, there are a few distinctions that set them apart. In the leaked set of images, we can see the Vellfire with a massive grille with large horizontal slats along with slim headlights, rectangular LED DRLs, large fog lamps with chrome surrounds, and small LED fog lamps. At the rear, we see conventional tail lamps that are connected via LED light bar.

As for Alphard, we see a grille with black-like shapes finished in chrome with LED DRLs, and smaller & circular fog lamp housing. The tail lamps showcase a similar design as the front lighting unit with block-like shapes and the two units are connected with each other via a thin chrome strip.

Interior

Both the upcoming Toyota MPVs feature a 6-seat layout with an ottoman and lounge seats like the ongoing models. Also, found in both cars are overhead sun/moonroof controls for 2nd-row passengers and a large, free-standing touchscreen infotainment system.

The MPVs are expected to get Lexus LM-like 48-inch widescreen TV for rear passengers as optional.

Engine

Toyota will offer the next-gen Vellfire and Alphard in two engine options including - a 2.4-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.5-litre hybrid engine. The automaker is yet to reveal the power and torque outputs of these units.

Arrival

If reports are to be believed, the 2023 Toyota Alphard, Vellfire is expected to arrive pretty soon in the international market.
