Peugeot 3008 beats Toyota Yaris, was the most produced car in France last year

KUALA LUMPUR: The Peugeot 3008 SUV is the most produced car in France last year. The manufacturer has claims that around 258,460 units have been made from PSA Group’s Sochaux plant.

Toyota Yaris comes to the second place with a production amount of 248,541 units. The Sochaux plant has produced around 1,000 units of the 3008 SUV every day and has manufactured around 23 million cars in its history.

It is the Peugeot’s Efficient Modular Platform (EMP2) on which the second generation 3008 is based on. The 308 hatch and 408 sedan models also share the same platform underpinning. In the local market, the Peugeot 3008 is available in two different trims and has a starting price tag of RM 141,888. It is imported directly from France.

It is powered by a 1.6-litre (THP) mill, which is capable of pumping out up to 167 PS of power and the peak torque sticks at 240 Nm. It is the 6-speed automatic gearbox that sends down the power to the front wheels. The 0 to 100 kmph acceleration can be done in just 8.9 seconds and the top speed is around 206 kmph.

The brand-new Peugeot 3008 SUV adorns a sharp and unique design. It gets the iconic and innovative rear profile and the panel gets a glossy black paint job. Moreover, there is the manufacturer’s trademark LED 3D rear lights.

The brand new 3008 SUV gets a new PEUGEOT i-Cockpit that is loaded with a host of high-tech features. Inside the car, there is an 8-inch multifunction colour touchscreen with multimedia connectivity that looks like a tablet. Moreover, there is a 12.3-inch digital head-up display cluster too.
