KUALA LUMPUR: Yes, it’s true. Porsche has issued a recall notice for the new 911 GT3 that after the investigation was found equipped with a faulty seat belt anchor.

    As per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) 911 GT3 recall notice the issue concerns a loose seat belt anchor screw. The notice read, "screw attaching the lower seat belt anchor to the seat frame may not have been tightened to specification."

    Porsche 911 GT3 recall details -

    • Only a small batch of 2022 models, 15 examples to be precise have been affected by the recent recall
    • All the affected units are fitted with the optional Full Bucket Seats made out of carbon fiber reinforced plastic and replacing the standard Sports Plus Seat

    • Owners of GT3 check on some tell-tale signs like hearing a squeak or rattle sound from the area
    • Part of the recall is Porsche built between July 14 2021 and May 31, 2022

    Wondering how the problem will be corrected? Service technicians at the local Porsche dealership will inspect the car and will tighten/replace the concerned screw. In case the screw threads are damaged, the seat frame will be replaced.
