Price confirmed for 2024 Honda CR-V RS Hybrid in Malaysia

Honda Malaysia introduced the all-new sixth-generation CR-V in four variants late last year. Back then, the automaker provided pricing details for the three non-hybrid variants (S, E, and V) and kept the price of the top-spec CR-V e:HEV RS under wraps. Well, the pricing for the hybrid variant has finally been disclosed, and it is set at RM 195,900 (on the road without insurance).

The CR-V lineup includes a hybrid variant for the first time. It is powered by an Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) drivetrain comprising an electric motor and a 2.0-litre NA Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine acting as a generator. The setup churns out a total system output of 184 PS and 335 Nm. Sending power to the front wheels is an e-CVT gearbox.

Performance-wise, the hybrid CR-V runs from zero to 100 kmph in 9.0 seconds (quicker than non-hybrids) and attains a top speed of 187 kmph (slightly lower than non-hybrids). The fuel consumption is rated at 5 litres per 100 km (20 kmpl), making it notably efficient compared to non-hybrid models that consume almost 7 litres per 100 km (14.2 kmpl).

In terms of design, the CR-V RS sets itself apart from the lower trims with an active shutter grille on the front lower bumper, RS body styling elements, RS badging, black side mirror covers, roof rails, sleek door handles, shark fin antenna, and 18-inch Berlina Black alloy wheels.

The interior also comes equipped with a few exclusive features such as a 10.25-inch fully digital unit, a head-up display, 12-speaker Bose Premium audio system, Key Card, Deceleration Selector Paddle, and a SPORT Button. The infotainment duties are handled by a 9.0-inch touchscreen display mated to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

As for safety, the SUV features a total of 8 airbags, a Honda CONNECT telematic system, and a Honda Sensing suite as standard. The safety gears exclusive to the RS variant are Adaptive driving beam and Active sound control.
