Proton X90 bookings open; 4 variants on offer

KUALA LUMPUR: Proton is one step closer to the launch of its first electrified vehicle, the X90, with the opening of the SUV’s bookings last weekend. As per the brand’s social media handle, interested folks can book the X90 only at Proton 3S and 4S centres. There is no information yet available on the price point.

Let’s check out the specifications of the 2023 Proton X90 known so far -

• The SUV is offered in four variants - Standard, Executive, Premium, and Flagship
• The lower three trims incorporate a 2-3-2 seating layout with a bench layout in the second row. The top-spec model, on the hand, feature a 2-2-2 configuration with captain chairs in the middle row
• Breaking the measuring tape, the X90 is 4,835 mm long, 1,785 mm tall, and 1,900 mm wide and has a wheelbase of 2,815 mm
• Standard equipment kit includes full LED headlamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, fabric seats, a 12.3-inch infotainment unit, and a reverse camera

• The X90 Executive adds a power tailgate, tyre pressure monitoring system, leatherette seats, driver power seat, front ventilated seats and a 360-degree camera with 3D display to the list
• Moving up, the X90 Premium brings on board several advanced bits like Nappa Leather seats, 19-inch alloy wheels, power-adjustable front seats, wireless charger, auto park assist, and advanced driver assistance systems
• The X90 Flagship exclusively comes with a panoramic sunroof and a front passenger ‘Boss’ switch

• When it comes to mechanical setup, all variants are equipped with the same mild-hybrid setup comprising a 1.5-litre TGDI engine and an innovative 48V Electric Motor Synergy system. The combined output is rated at 190 PS and 300 Nm
• On the transmission front, sits a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission
• The Proton X90 colour options include - Snow White, Armour Silver, Jet Grey, Cinnamon Brown, Ruby Red, and Maroon Blue

The preview sessions of the SUV are currently underway in the country and the launch is expected to happen soon.
