Stellantis aims to transform the plant into a regional manufacturing hub and export up to 280,000 vehicles to 20 countries across the Asia-Pacific region by 2028.
  • What are the key highlights of the Peugeot 408?

The new Peugeot 408 is the first model launched under the Stellantis Malaysia entity.  With the Red Dot “Design of the Year” award under its belt, the fastback features completely redesigned aesthetics and advanced engineering and technology.
  • Regional export expansion

The Malaysia-built Peugeot 408 model is earmarked for regional export, with Taiwan confirmed as the third market to receive this award-winning fastback, following Thailand in 2024 and Cambodia in 2025. Transforming Gurun into a regional hub, ready for EV production

Stellantis has ambitious plans to transform the Gurun plant into a regional manufacturing powerhouse with industry-leading quality standards. It aims to achieve full production capacity at the facility, targeting the export of 280,000 vehicles to 20 countries across the Asia-Pacific region by 2028.

The facility will take care of the production of the automaker’s electrified vehicles, including BEVs and MHEVs. It will be spearheaded by the local assembly of the Leapmotor C10 EV with a dedicated €5 million (RM 24 million) investment.
