Thailand gets the all-new 2022 Mazda CX-5, check details

KUALA LUMPUR: In order to keep the CX-5 in sync with today's consumer preferences, Mazda fueled the SUV with some up-to-date revisions. So, don't confuse it with a full-fledged facelift.

2022 Mazda CX-5 price

The 2022 CX-5 price tag ranges from 1,320,000 baht (RM 164k) to 1,830,000 baht (RM 228k). Compared to the previous model, prices of the new CX-5 have come down between 20,000 baht (RM 2,490) to 90,000 baht (RM 11,205).

2022 Mazda CX-5 engine

The SUV is offered in four trim levels with three engine options. All the three mills are carried forward, they are -

• a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated four-cyl mill making 165 PS and 210 Nm
• a 2.2-litre turbo diesel unit offering 190 PS and 450 Nm
• a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-pot unit generating 190 PS and 450 Nm

The former mill is shared by the two most affordable CX-5 variants, the XDL trim gets the 2.2L unit, and the turbo mill powers the range-topping model.

Mazda CX-5 exterior colour options include Sonic Silver, Machine Grey, Snowflake White Pearl, Soul Red Crystal, Jet Black, and Deep Crystal Blue.

New CX-5 exterior & interior specs

All CX-5 variants benefit from adaptive projector LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED combination tail lights, powered tailgate, and electrochromic ORVM. The wheel sizes range from 17- to 19-inches depending on the variant. On the inside, the standard kit includes dual-zone automatic climate control, an 8-inch infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto support.

The additional kit brings along elements like a powered sunroof, Nappa leather seats with ventilation, Bose 10-speaker surround sound system with Audiopilot and Centre Point programmes, and LED interior lighting with front and rear footwell illumination.

New CX-5 safety specs

As for safety, all CX-5 variants except the base model get the i-Activsense driver assist system that comprises autonomous emergency braking, driver attention alert, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, driver attention alert, and advanced blind spot monitoring. A few variants get a 360-degree surround sound camera system as well. Available as standard are - six airbags and front & rear parking sensors.
