KUALA LUMPUR: The last week was full of fun and thrill for the racing fans as UMW Toyota Motors organised the second round of the Toyota GAZOO Racing Festival and Vios Challenge race series Season 5 at Sepang International Circuit. The event was different and more exciting from the ones held in the last two years as it had a real audience on the ground.
Live music concerts and several ground activities marked the homecoming of fans and spectators back to the fest. However, just like before, races were held in four different categories – Super Sporting Class (for professional and elite racers), Sporting class (for amateur/gentleman racers), Promotional class (for celebrities), and Rookie class (for young racers). Here are the winners of the Race 1 and Race 2 held on June 25 and 26, 2022, respectively.

Along with the racing, the fans also enjoyed several fun-filled activities on the ground such as All-Wheel Fest for non-motorised vehicles, a Zumba session, a pump ramp, a skateboard competition, and live music concerts. The fest also had several sales, promotional and activity booths for the visitors along with an urban street dining area, which served the best local cuisines and delicacies to them.
The next round (Round 3) of the Toyota Gazoo Racing and Vios Challenge Season 5 will be held in September this year. In the previous four seasons, the event has successfully attracted more than 8 million spectators and online viewers with a social media reach of over 19 million. This makes it one of the most viewed motor-racing events in Malaysia.
According to UMW Toyota Motor President Ravindran K, this has also been the most rewarding racing series to compete in over the previous 5 years, with Season 5 offering more than a half million ringgits in prize money.
