Toyota Motor Thailand introduces C-HR GT bodykit at 2019 BIMS
KUALA LUMPUR: Toyota Motor Thailand has introduced a new bodykit for Toyota C-HR. Willing buyers of this car in Thailand can now choose a GT bodykit version. The outfit is designed by Faustino and introduced by Toyota at the ongoing 2019 BIMS (Bangkok International Motor Show) in Pak Kret.
Toyota C-HR is a popular SUV in its home market, Japan. In Thailand, it was awarded “Car of the Year” in 2018. The vehicle is already well-received across the globe for its elaborate designs and sporty stance. Interestingly, Toyota introduced two bodykits named Modellista and TRD kits at last year’s BIMS.
Speaking of the new outfit, the C-HR GT comes with a front skirt, side skirt, and a rear diffuser that are garnished with partly black and body color along with red accents. At the front, it gets side air intakes, which also have a red accent. Moreover, the rear diffuser gets two false pipes. The car will ride on 17-inch two-tone turban designed wheels, which can also be seen on the updated version of this car that was introduced by UMW Toyota Motor in February this year.
Inside the cabin, it boasts an assortment of driver assistance and safety features. The Display Audio system supports Android Auto connectivity and Apple CarPlay. Apart from these, Toyota Safety Sense P suite with Pedestrian Warning System, Lane Departure Alert are also available.
Toyota C-HR is available with a 2ZR-FE 1.8-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder Dual VVT-i engine in Thailand. The powertrain churns out a maximum power of 137 PS at 6,400 rpm and a peak torque of 170 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The power is sent to the front wheels through CVT unit with a seven-speed Sequential Shiftmatic mode. As per the norm in Thailand, the engine is E85 compatible.
C-HR is produced at Toyota Motor Thailand’s Gateway plant in Chachoengsao and is exported from here to more than 100 countries including Malaysia. Price of the models starts from 979,000 baht (RM 125,588) and goes up to 1.159 million baht (RM 148,680). The GT bodykit costs 20,000 baht (RM 2,560), however, Toyota Motor Thailand is offering a special price of just 2,000 baht (RM 256) if purchased with a new C-HR.
