Toyota Vios and Hilux Offer More Kit in the Same Price
KUALA LUMPUR: You deserve extra! Yes, Toyota has introduced its Vios sedan and Hilux Pickup with additional features, without asking for added money from your pockets.
The Vios 1.5 TRD sportive and 1.5 G variants now come with DVD-AVN (audio-video navigation) infotainment system which can be connected to the Internet through a compatible smartphone's mobile data connection. When connected, the smart navigation apps on the phone which are guiding ways, can be seen on the big screen while driving. For better services, a prior installation of UMW Toyota Motor's accessories is required. The Toyota legitimate accessory 2 DIN head unit has a seven-inch touchscreen with HDMI, USB, Bluetooth and AUX connections that can be operated by voice commands, hand gestures, and air gestures. The new reverse camera incorporates the guidelines and gives selectable left and right view.
The Toyota premium security and solar film is regular for every Vios 1.5 E and 1.5 J, made from an inorganic oxidized advanced nano-material with multiple layers, which avoids easy shattering of the glass and also protects in case of major impact. It also dodges the heat transmission and ultraviolet rays up to 99%.
People buying TRD Sportivo and G variants of the Hilux get a valuable package, without paying any extra penny. It includes the DVD-AVN unit with reverse camera, a hood protector, red sports stripes, B-pillar carbon fiber wrap and stainless sports steel bar on the inside. With an expense of RM 2500, you can upgrade from TRD Sportivo to TRD Sportivo Sports Bar.
The Vios range was updated earlier this year with prices starting as RM 74,700 for the manual J and RM 78,800 for the auto one. The price rises when the price tag on E reads as RM 84,300 and on G, RM 89,900. The TRD Sportivo would cost you RM 94,800. All Vios prices are the on-road prices, inclusive of the insurance.
The Hilux range was also updated near the same time with a price ranging from RM 92,257 to RM 106,898 for the Hilux G (2.5 G MT and AT, 3.0 G AT). The non-metallic Sportivo 2.5 G will cost RM 101,747 whereas metallic color version costs RM 102,407. The range-topping Hilux TRD Sportivo 3.0 G can be all yours by paying RM 109,820. This on-road price quotations didn't include the insurance amount.
No doubt this is a wise marketing gimmick of Toyota to clear off its previous stock. But as a buyer, what matters is the opportunity of availing extra facilities without a price hike.
