Very soon BYD Atto 3 will reach its customers; 500 units shipped to Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: If you are one of the customers who booked the BYD Atto 3 then get ready to bring the EV home. As 500 units of the car are en route to Malaysia via the sea; so, get ready to welcome the EV home. Excited?

The news about the Atto 3 shipment was shared by the BYD Asia Pacific Facebook page. Thus reflecting the automaker’s “robust supply chain and in-house production capacity”.

Malaysia-spec BYD Atto 3 - A little recap

• The Atto 3 was launched in Malaysia in early December 2022 and within ten days of its arrival the EV received over 1,000 orders
• Locally, the EV is offered in two variant options called the Atto 3 Standard Range and Atto 3 Extended Range
• Price-wise, the Standard Range and Extended Range trim retail for RM 149,800 and RM 167,800 respectively

• The Standard Range model features a 49.92 kWh battery, offering 345 km of range
• The Extended Range model comes with a 60.48 kWh battery which provides an electric range of 420 km
• Both the Atto 3 variants can be charged via a 6.6 kW AC charger and 70/80 kW DC fast charging unit
• The EV is capable of vehicle-to-load function; a maximum rate of 2.2 kW
• The BYD EV’s safety kit includes several impressive features. Including Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & GO, Lane Keeping Assist, Hill Descent Control, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Vehicle Hold, Door Open Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring, Front Collision Warning, and Rear Collision Warning

In Malaysia, BYD’s operations will be handled by Sime Darby Beyond Auto which in the future will add EVs to its lineup starting with the Seal and Dolphin. The brand’s future plan also includes opening up 40 showrooms by the end of 2024.
