Volkswagen Golf GTI Sepang Edition launched in Malaysia with limited-time 10.10 promo

KUALA LUMPUR: Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia has rolled out a track-inspired version of the Golf GTI, called the Golf GTI Sepang Edition. Developed in collaboration with Sepang International Circuit (SIC), the latest model is Volkswagen Malaysia’s first collaboration on a special edition model and the first-ever car in the country that features SIC badging. 

The Volkswagen Golf GTI Sepang Edition is a custom-built tribute to Malaysian pride and performance. It pays homage to the country’s rich motorsport legacy and the Sepang International Circuit. The latter has long stood as Malaysia’s hallmark of speed, hosting Formula 1 races, MotoGP championships, and other international motorsport milestones.

The Volkswagen Golf GTI Sepang Edition is a limited-edition, locally assembled model that sets itself apart with unique motorsport-inspired styling and exclusive emblems of the SIC track. 

The exclusive highlights of the new Golf GTI are as follows - 

• Sepang Edition emblem on the rear
• Sepang Edition B-pillar logo finished with UV Gloss
• Richmond 18” Gunmetal Grey Matte light alloy wheels with “GTI” dynamic wheel hub caps
• Sporty side decorative film for motorsport-inspired styling

• Exclusive Sepang Edition base plate

The hatchback comes with a special gift box with a key holder and a certificate of authenticity. As for colour options, customers can choose between Atlantic Blue and King’s Red.

Volkswagen Golf GTI Sepang Edition: Specifications

The hatchback is powered by the same 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four cylinder petrol engine as the standard Mk8 Golf GTI, delivering a maximum power of 245 PS and a peak torque of 370 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed wet-dual-clutch DSG automatic transmission.

The vehicle remains true to the hallmark GTI character, offering an agile and fun-to-drive experience with XDS electronic differential lock, sports suspension and the Vehicle Dynamics Manager with Dynamic Chassis Control.
