A city-friendly BMW with weekend ambitions
Quite surprisingly, the new BMW X1 car understood the specific rhythms of the Malaysian cities better than I did, which is why driving it around KL felt so surreal and natural. The ride height is ample, ensuring smoother navigation on uneven roads, especially those random potholes near Cheras. I truly appreciate the 10.7-inch curved touchscreen— responsive, crisp, and easy to glance at when Waze reroutes at the worst moments. For my late-night drives, the adaptive LED lights were my best companion, while the parking assistant was indeed a blessing for tight parking spaces. Although, I would prefer a bit better cabin insulation, especially to dampen the sounds from lorries passing by.
