It was only recently that Proton introduced its new sedan, the S70, in Malaysia with prices ranging from RM 73,800 to RM 94,800. Based on the Geely Emgrand, the new model shares the same BMA (B-segment Modular Architecture) platform as the Proton X50 and is equipped with a 1.5-litre engine/CVT combination, a commonality in the ASEAN B-segment space.

While the Proton S70 has the mentioned equipment benefits over the Honda City, the latter also has several distinguishing features, such as RS styling, paddle shifters, hybrid engine, leather upholstery, and wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
