2019 Toyota Camry specs revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota Motor, the official distribution partner of Toyota cars in Malaysia, revealed the specifications of the brand new 2019 Camry. The Malaysian market has already witnessed seven generations of the Camry till date; some launched with multiple variants. The 8th generation is, however, arriving with a single-engine option, called the 2.5V Camry. The new Toyota sedan gets an on-the-road price tag of around RM189,900.

The 2019 Toyota Camry is built on Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, which means the flagship will now offer more safety, stability, and agility.

The 2019 Toyota Camry comes with automatic bi-LED projector headlamps accompanied by LED turn signals. The fog lamps, rear lights, and the daytime running lights all LED. The vehicle will ride on 18-inch wheels wrapped with 235/45 tyres. The auto wipers, dual exhaust tips, and the hydrophilic auto retractable wing mirrors are other notable exterior features.

Inside the 2019 Toyota Camry, you can spot smooth leather seats with an ultra-premium finishing. The front seats are now eight-way adjustable with collapsible head- and shoulder-rest on passenger’s side along with power lumber at the driver’s side. Moreover, a 7-inch multi-info display is placed perfectly between two Optitron dials. Also, an 8-inch capacitive touchscreen display and a 10-inch color head-up display (HUD) comes inclusive.

The 2019 Toyota Camry is powered by the same four-cylinder 2AR-FE 2.5-litre engine, which can churn a maximum of 184 PS of power along with a peak torque of 235 Nm. The Dual VVT-i and ACIS-equipped unit is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox.

2019 Camry safety kit includes seven airbags have been added to the list, followed by Hill Start Assist, Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, tyre pressure monitoring system, and front/rear parking sensors.

Also, the brand new Camry gets Toyota Safety Sense suite. It includes Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beam, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and Pre-collision System.
