June also saw UMWT taking a more public-facing role in motorsports, acting as the title sponsor for the Super GT Malaysia Festival, held at the Sepang International Circuit. It marked the return of the series to Malaysia after a 12-year absence and pulled in over 75,000 spectators.

Beyond just logos on the track, Toyota made its presence felt with a full-fledged GAZOO Racing experience zone. Fans were treated to GR models on display, racing simulators, interactive games, and activities geared for families—underscoring the brand’s push to make motorsports more accessible to the general public.

One notable moment from the weekend was the international debut of a new endurance format for the TGR Vios Challenge. Featuring 36 drivers and covering a full hour around Sepang, it included five young drivers from the Toyota GAZOO Racing Young Talent Development Programme—part of the company’s broader investment in nurturing local motorsport talent.

The showcase highlighted several technologies—from efficient internal combustion engines and hybrids to battery EVs, plug-ins, and hydrogen-powered fuel cell models.

On display was the Toyota Mirai, a hydrogen fuel cell EV that emits only water vapour, and a presentation on the Eco-Vehicle Assessment System, which adopts lifecycle analysis (LCA) to measure and reduce environmental impact from production to disposal.
