2020 Jaguar F-Type revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: After teasing the 2020 Jaguar F-Type for the last couple of months, the British multinational car manufacturer has pulled the cover of it globally. Just like the previous models, the latest edition is built on the same aluminium structure.

The Jaguar sports car has received some modifications in design. It gets slimmer pixel LED headlamps having the signature ‘Calligraphy’ LED DRLs. The front grille and front bumper are larger, and the clamshell bonnet and vents are entirely new. Coming to the rear end, there are new tail lights with the chicane signature.

Getting inside, the new Jaguar F-Type comes with a high-definition 12.3-inch instrument cluster. It is further assisted with a TouchPro system, which helps the users to use the infotainment system. The driver can configure the instrument cluster. A new full map mode is included along with the default mode.

The mechanical department of 2020 F-Type also gets a revision. The base variant is equipped with a 2.0 litre Ingenium inline-four petrol engine. It is capable of providing a maximum power of 300 PS along with a peak torque of 400 NM. The engine is mated to an eight-speed Quickshift automatic transmission.

The next level variant has a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 380 PS along with a peak torque of 460 Nm. It comes with both the rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options.

On step forward is the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that offers a maximum power of 450 PS and the peak torque of 580 Nm. The engine comes with an electronic active differential that helps to optimise traction.

The F-Type R is the flagship variant of the F-Type range. It comes with a 5.0-litre V8 engine, which can produce a maximum power of 575 PS and the peak torque is 700 Nm. It is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The 2020 Jaguar F-Type price starts from £54,060 (RM 291,933) in the UK. The manufacturer has already started accepting orders online.
