2020 Jeep Wagoneer teaser video released

KUALA LUMPUR: Breaking the Friday teaser ritual, Jeep has uploaded a small video of the upcoming Wagoneer on its official Instagram account. Thus, keeping its car in the limelight and headlines until the big debut day, i.e., September 3. With the launch of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, the automaker will have a 3-row offering in its lineup, the only thing that was missing.

All the teasers and information that’s been going around suggest that of the two cars, the Grand Wagoneer will be the ultra-plush offering with all the advanced high-tech features. Not that the Jeep Wagoneer would be far behind, it’ll also come with a sizable portion of functions. However, with the growing frequency of the teasers, it won’t be long before we catch hold of all the details.

Coming back to the teaser video posted on Instagram, it reveals the car’s silhouette that looks quite similar to that of the Grand Cherokee. Thanks to several spy shots, we know that the Wagoneer will wear the brand’s seven-slot grille with headlamps flanking. And also, somewhere at the side or rear, it’ll get the ‘WAGONEER’ badging followed by the American flag. Any other details about the car’s exterior styling is difficult to guess with its silhouette all blacked out the city’s image in the background.

Also, we aren’t aware of the parameters the Grand Wagoneer or Wagoneer will differ - it can be the seating layout/wheelbase, luxurious features, or others. The previous teaser image gave us a glimpse of the car’s interior, where we get to see a rotary dial and wood trim. Adding to the car’s luxurious feel is a screen for front passenger and a 12-inch frameless infotainment display that sits on the instrument panel.

It is also rumoured to share the same chassis as the Ram 1500 and is said to benefit from a hybrid powertrain in the future. The Wagoneer production will commence in the second quarter of 2021 and will go on sale later that year for the 2022 model year.
