2021 Bentley Bentayga S revealed with sportier style and handling
KUALA LUMPUR: For the buyers who look for a sportier appearance, better handling, and ultra-luxury features in a car, Bentley rolled out the all-new Bentayga S. The model brings extra sporting agility to the Bentayga family alongside striking design cues and unique detailing. It joins the expanding range of the high-riding cruiser that already includes the standard V8. plug-in-hybrid and Speed.
Let’s talk about its sporty performance first. The new Bentayga S sources its power from the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that we can find under the standard V8 model. It generates a maximum power of 542 hp and a peak torque of 770 Nm, which enables the SUV to clock the 100 kmph market in just 4.4 seconds before hitting a top speed of 290 kmph. While the two models have the same engine performance, the unit available with the Bentayga S emits more of a hearty growl because of a new free-flowing sports exhaust system.
Other than that, the upgrades include a Dynamic Ride active anti-roll control; it can react in less than a second to counteract lateral force at the time of cornering which ensures maximum tyre contact. Added to the list is a specially tuned Sport driving mode that improves suspension damping and a new Torque Vectoring by Brake system that allows more responsive turning.
In terms of design, the new version does not look much different from its cousins at a first glance as it gets the same base design. However, if we look at the detailing, we can see a different story. The front and rear bumpers are now lower, while the rear spoiler is now larger. For more sporty vibes, the SUV gets dark-tinted LED lights, and a black finish on the door mirrors, and a split oval exhaust. A black body kit is also there. This means the chrome-finishings are replaced by elegant black. On top of it, there is a set of unique 22-inch, five-spoke wheels, and a special S badge to differentiate it from the other Bentaygas.
Just like the exterior, the Bentayga S cabin also exudes sporty styling. For which, it gets new Alcantara-wrapped “fluted” seats carrying S logos on the backrests, illuminated tread plates, and unique trimmings on the steering wheel, gear selector, and headliner. However, the tech features are sourced from the Bentayga Speed and V8.
This go-anywhere luxury SUV is designed and engineered in the UK and manufactured in the brand’s carbon-neutral factory in Crewe. Its deliveries are expected to start before the end of 2021.
