2021 Mazda 6 sedan received updates in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Bermaz Motor, the official distributor of Mazda cars in Malaysia last updated the Mazda 6 back in 2019 when it introduced the features like G-Vectoring Control Plus and Wired Apple Carplay, and Android Auto. And now, it has come up with another updated version of the evergreen D-segment sedan. So, what’s all-new in the 2021 Mazda 6, let’s check that out.

On the exterior, the model’s styling almost remains the same as the facelifted model launched in 2018. The only update added to the 2.5L trim is 19-inch Black Metallic alloy rims and Gloss Black outer door mirrors for a more distinctive and sportier look. The seven available exterior color options are - Soul Red Crystal, Jet Black, Machine Gray, Sonic Silver, Snowflake White Pearl, Deep Crystal Blue, and Polymetal Grey.

Getting inside, here most of the updates are concentrated. These include Wireless Apple CarPlay as standard for all variants. The 2021 Mazda6 2.0L now also features keyless entry and walk-away door lock and paddle shifters. Aesthetically, the cabin gets Burgundy Red coloured leather seats, paired with Burgundy Red coloured stitching on the dash and door trims. However, this colour scheme is only available with the top-spec model.

The all-new Mazda 6 is available with the same engine choices. The SkyActiv- G 2.0 L engine generates a maximum power of 153 hp at 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 200 Nm at 4000 rpm. In contrast, the SkyActiv-G 2.5 L engine delivers a commanding output of 185 hp at 5700 rpm and a torque of 250 Nm at 3250 rpm. Both variants are mated to the SKYACTIV-DRIVE six-speed automatic gearbox with manual shift mode, front-wheel drive, and G-Vectoring Control Plus.

Coming to the Mazda 6 price in Malaysia, the base variant 2.0L is priced at RM 170,917, while the range-topping 2.5L retails for RM 207,642. The prices include 50% Sales Tax Reduction (SST) on CBU models, which is valid from now to 30th June 2021.  

On purchase, the customers will get a 5-Years Manufacturer Warranty and 5-Years Free Maintenance as per the manufacturer’s standards (inclusive of labour, parts, and lubricants). Both free maintenance and manufacturer Warranty have a mileage limit of 100,000 km or a coverage period of five years, whichever comes first.
