Taking the premiumness of the top-spec model to the next level is the new quilted Nappa leather seats that are paired with a two-tone Grey interior. However, the standard trim continues with the fabric upholstery with leatherette as an option.
New safety technologies
The 2022 Nissan Serena comes packed with a Smart 360-degree safety shield that monitors front, behind, and either side of the vehicle and can even step in to help keep in case of trouble. It is loaded with the new following gears -
- Intelligent Predictive Forward Collision Warning & Emergency Braking: This system monitors the second vehicle ahead and the car directly in front of you to reduce the chances of an accident. The emergency braking activates the brakes to avoid collision and thus reduces the stress of driving on busy streets.
- Blind Spot Warning: With the help of radar sensors positioned at the rear bumper, it keeps an eye on blind spot areas (3m x 3m) when you drive at a speed of 32 kmph and above.
- Lane Departure Warning: When you stray from your lane, this system warms you with audio and visual alerts. It turns off when you flick your indicator to return to the lane.
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert: This system comes into play when you reverse the car at speed of less than 8 kmph. It detects the approaching vehicle with a driving speed below 30 kmph and warns you by providing alerts.
Besides these newly added bits, the 2022 Nissan Serena continues to feature a 7.0-inch coloured instrumental cluster, 11.6-inch roof-mounted LCD panel, dual-zone climate control system, dual-channel Driving Video Recorder, six-speaker system, and several thoughtful convenience features. The latter includes dual back door, 7-USB powered ports, Zero gravity inspired seats, power sliding door control switch, seatback sliding function, foldable seat back tray table, etc.
Continuing safety gears comprise six SRS airbags, ABS, EBD with brake assist, traction control system, vehicle dynamic control, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
No changes have been made to the mechanical setup. That means it is powered by the same 2.0-lite twin CVTC hybrid mill delivering a maximum power of 150 PS and a peak torque of 200 Nm. The ECO electric motor provides torque assistance on take-off and thus reduces demands on the gasoline mill for better fuel efficiency.
The bookings of the new Serena are now underway for two variants - Highway Star and Premium Highway Star Package with the launch scheduled for next month. With every purchase, the customers will get five complimentary maintenance services (including parts and labour) at alternate intervals, viz.. 10,000 km, 30,000 km, 50,000 km, 70,000 km, and 90,000 km). The warranty period will be up to 5 years with unlimited mileage.
