2023 Toyota Camry Nightshade Edition: Key highlights

KUALA LUMPUR: The eighth-generation Camry sedan is close to its retirement and Toyota has just given it a special treatment to keep things interesting. The Japanese automaker introduced a new Toyota Camry Nightshade Special Edition in the US. 

Designed for those who want to draw extra attention on the road, the special edition will be available in three shades - Midnight Black, White and Reservoir Blue. Let’s check out its key highlights - 

Lots of black accents on the exterior

The Nightshade pack adds a lot of black accents on the exterior, including the black mesh grille, black treatment to the headlights and tail lights, black badges, and black rear spoiler and mirror caps. 

Bronze wheels

Toyota teamed up the black highlights with the 19-inch matte bronze aluminum alloy wheels to create a stand out.

Sporty elements

The 2023 Toyota Camry Nightshade Special Edition also benefits from a TRD-inspired front fascia and a sport-tuned suspension system. 

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+

The special edition model comes packed with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ ADAS pack, including -

• Pre-Collision System (with Intersection Support, Emergency Steering Assist and Bicyclist Detection)
• Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
• Automatic High Beams
• Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (with Full-Speed Range and Curve Management System)
• Lane Tracing Assist
• Road Sign Assist 

Multiple engine choices

There is no upgrade under the hood as the 2023 Camry continues to come with three different engines. These include a 2.5-litre four-cylinder mill producing a maximum power output of 209 PS and a peak torque of 252 Nm.. Another option is a 3.5-litre V6, which is good for making 305 PS and 362 Nm.

The Camry Hybrid is also on offer with a 2.5-litre four-cyl mill, two electric motors, and a battery pack. This setup pulls out a combined power of 211 PS.

While pricing has not yet been announced, the 2023 Camry Nightshade Edition will be soon available in the US market.
