2025 Bentley Bentayga Speed revealed with a new V8 engine

KUALA LUMPUR: Bentley has pulled the wraps off the all-new Bentayga Speed in the international market. Incorporating a new V8 engine, this latest Bentayga is touted as the brand’s most powerful, dynamic, and exhilarating SUV ever.

2025 Bentley Bentayga Speed: Key highlights

New 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine

The most notable change on the Bentayga Speed is the  4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, which replaces the iconic 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 mill. The latest setup churns out a maximum power of 650 PS (up by 15 PS) and a peak torque of 850 Nm between 2,250 and 4,500 rpm. 

This enables the SUV to hit the century in just 3.4 seconds and clock a top speed of 310 kmph. It surpasses those of the Bentayga V8 S (4.4 seconds) as well as the 3.9-second mark set by the previous W12-engined Bentayga Speed. 

Well, the mechanical setup isn’t just more powerful than its predecessors, but it is also more dynamic. It features a Sports exhaust system delivering a rich, powerful engine note. Those who want a more thrilling soundtrack can opt for the Titanium Akrapovic Exhaust.

Enhanced driving capabilities

The latest Bentayga Speed comes with the following enhanced driving capabilities - 

Driving modes	Comfort and Bentley: Optimal for daily use and touring  Sport: Offers enhanced steering response, agility, better cornering (via brake torque) and road-holding with 15% stiffer suspension
ESC Dynamic (Optional)	It comes paired with carbon ceramic brakes and allows power-on oversteer/drift and sharper turn-in and better exit performance. Also includes a Launch Control feature, first time ever on a Bentayga
All-Wheel Steering	Low/Medium speeds: Rear wheels steer opposite to front for agility and a tighter turning circle High speeds: Rear wheels steer the same direction as the front for improved stability

Striking exterior design 

The new Bentayga Speed boasts a powerful design statement with dark-tinted trims, chrome Speed badges, unique Speed headlights with dark-tinted internals, and grey tail lights with a tint bezel.

The SUV is fitted with 22-inch Speed wheels (in either dark tint or silver) as standard, and for the very first time, Bentley offers 23-inch Speed wheels as an option. Featuring carbon ceramic brakes, the latter can be had in grey satin, black or black and bright machined finishes. 

Also new for the 2025 model year is the Speed black roof, which is finished in either gloss or satin, depending on the chosen body finish. 

Performance-focused interior 

The key interior highlights of the all-new Bentayga Speed -

• Speed-specific driver information display
• Speed badging to the passenger fascia and treadplates
• Speed embroidered emblem on the seat uppers
• ‘Bullseye’ air vents, organ stops, and central air vents finished in dark tint or chrome
• New Precision Diamond quilt design on the seat shoulder panels, door inners, and backboard
• Speed upholstery with a darker colour as the main shade and touches of a lighter colour on the seat edges

Overall, the new Bentayga Speed offers extraordinary capabilities, with notable enhancements and the adoption of the smaller yet powerful V8 engine, while retaining the classic Bentley qualities.
