2026 Proton X70 Sport Edition launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Proton has launched a special edition of its popular C-segment SUV, the X70. Dubbed as the Proton X70 Sport Edition, the special model features sporty design elements and interior enhancements, offering enhanced visual appeal and everyday usability. The quantity is limited to 600 units.  

Proton X70 Sport Edition: Key highlights 

Based on the SUV's Premium variant, the Proton X70 Sport Edition is sprayed with an exclusive Quartz Black colour and features the following unique highlights - 

• Full aerokit including front, side, and rear skirts
• Black 19-inch alloy wheels
• Exclusive Sport Edition badging,
• Exclusive Sport Edition logos embroidered on the front seats
• Red stitching on the seats, steering wheel, and front armrest
• Boot tray

Proton X70 Sport Edition: Specifications

Under the hood of the special X70 model lies the same i-GT 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine as the Premium trim. The said engine is tuned to make a maximum power of 181 PS and a peak torque of 290 Nm. Paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox, the setup offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 6.9 litres per 100 km.

The equipment kit comprises all-around LED lighting units, 19-inch alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch infotainment head unit, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, “Hi PROTON” voice command system, Nappa leather steering wheel, dual-zone air-conditioning system, leatherette seats, ventilated front seats, 6-way power driver seat, auto-dimming rear mirror, 72-colour ambient lighting, and Level 2 Advanced  Driver Assistance System pack, comprising 13 safety features. 

Proton X70 Sport Edition: Price

The Proton X70 Sport Edition is priced at RM 115,300 (on-the-road, without insurance), which means RM 2,500 dearer than the Premium trim.

• Pro-Warranty: 5-year warranty with unlimited mileage, along with 6 times free labour service
• Pro-Connect: 5-year in-car data package with 2GB per month 
• Pro-Finance: Financing options of up to 9 years with interest rates starting from 2.2% per annum, with a margin of finance up to 90%
• Pro-Trade-In: Overtrade support of up to RM 1,000 for customers trading in their existing vehicles
• Pro-Shield: Proton Insurance Programme, which provides enhanced coverage including special perils protection, personal accident coverage of up to RM 15,000 per person, and additional flood relief coverage of up to RM 2,000.
