All-electric BMW i7 gets a new variant, the i7 eDrive50

KUALA LUMPUR: It was only last year that BMW introduced the seventh-gen 7 series and i7. Now for 2023, the German automaker has added a new variant to its all-electric luxury sedan, the i7.

The BMW i7 lineup already includes two variants - the xDrive60 and the xDrive70 and the latest one to join the range is the eDrive50 which will be slotted under the above two mentioned trims.

Let us get to know the all-new BMW i7 eDrive50 in detail -

Powertrain

The all-new i7 eDrive50 benefits from a highly integrated electric drive unit. The sedan’s single-motor electric setup generates a maximum power of 455 hp along with a peak torque of 650 Nm.

Performance

The above configuration allows the all-electric sedan to complete a century sprint in just 5.5 seconds.

Battery & charging

BMW is yet to reveal the all-new BMW i7 eDrive50’s battery and charging details. However, the automaker did claim the new variant to feature a highly efficient e-motor along with a high-voltage battery.

Range

The BMW i7 eDrive50 is said to offer a driving range from between 575 km to 611 km.

Overall, the all-electric BMW i7 eDrive50 will allow owners to enjoy emission-free supreme long-distance comfort combined with high-end innovations.
