All-new Suzuki Jimny coming on January 13th

KUALA LUMPUR: Suzuki is all set to launch the all-new Jimny five-door version. The new car will debut at the 2023 Auto Expo, India on Jan 13, 2022, and before that happens we expect to see more of the SUV in the form of test mules, with or without camouflage.

What do we know about the upcoming Suzuki Jimny?

• The 5-door Suzuki Jimny will showcase a rugged design philosophy like the earlier three-door version
• It will flaunt a muscular clamshell hood, vertical grille, round headlamps, wide air dam, and bumper-mounted fog lamps
• The side profile will get ORVMs, alloy wheels, and flared wheel arches with thick black cladding
• At the rear, the SUV will get a tailgate-mounted spare wheel and a bumper-mounted tail light
• Powering the new Jimny will be a 1.5-litre, inline-four, K-series petrol mill generating a maximum power of 104 hp along with a peak torque of 138 Nm
• The drive will be sent to wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission with an 'AllGrip Pro’ four-wheel-drive system

• Though the interior is still under wraps, we expect the off-roader to feature a spacious cabin with automatic climate control, a minimalistic all-black dashboard, premium fabric upholstery, a multi-function steering wheel, a touchscreen infotainment panel, and a semi-digital instrument cluster. All this with the latest connectivity options
• The safety kit will get multiple airbags, an anti-lock braking system, and an electronic braking distribution system

The upcoming 5-door Jimny’s pricing and availability will be announced on January 13 at Auto Expo 2023.
