Audi A8L launched in Malaysia; price starts at RM 880k

KUALA LUMPUR: Audi Malaysia lineup gets the all-new A8L, as previously reported the car is available in only one variant option - A8L 3.0 TFSI Quattro. The said trim will set you back by RM 879,900 on-the-road without insurance. Included in the price is a five-year unlimited mileage warranty.

The Malaysian-spec model is a long-wheelbase version of the car; it measures 1300 mm more than the regular A8, which is 3,128 mm. The car showcases a length of 5,172 mm, the width of 1,945 mm, and a height of 1,485 mm.

The car is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 TFSI mill that comes with a 48V mild-hybrid system that gets a belt alternator starter that is known for regenerative braking to charge a 10-Ah lithium-ion battery in the boot area. When the battery is fully charged, the A8 L can costs between 55 to 160 kmph for around 40 seconds (engine off), thus saving fuel.

The EA839 unit poops out 340 PS of power at 5,000 to 6,400 rpm and 500 Nm of peak torque at 1,370 to 4,500 rpm. The engine is paired to an 8-speed Tiptronic gearbox. With this configuration, the Audi A8 L can cruise 0 to 100 kmph in 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kmph. The company claims a combined fuel economy of 8.2 litre per km.
