The event was, in many ways, a reflection of how much Chery has leaned on its dealer network to build momentum in Malaysia. Chery Corporate Malaysia executive vice president Men Lin Bo used the occasion to thank dealer partners for the work they have put in on the ground, saying the company’s growth is closely tied to the effort coming from each outlet and team member.

He said, “The hard work, dedication, and belief demonstrated across the dealer network are the engines driving Chery’s growth,” adding that dealerships remain the brand’s closest link to customers and play a major role in shaping how Chery is seen in the market.

The biggest award of the night, Dealer of the Year 2025, went to Chery Medini, operated by Gagner Auto Sdn Bhd. The Johor outlet not only took Gold in the overall dealer ranking, but also walked away with the Top Sales Outlet 2025 title, making it one of the strongest performers at the event. Chery Glenmarie, run by Joystar Auto Sdn Bhd, took Silver, while Chery Bandar Bukit Puchong, operated by Lesydear Automobile Sdn Bhd, secured Bronze.

Chery Medini’s strong showing did not stop there. Several of its team members were also recognised during the evening, including four staff members who received the Top Sales Advisor award. On the aftersales side, Lim Wei Jin was named Service Centre Manager of the Year, adding to what was already a very successful night for the dealership.

The dinner was not only about dealer rankings and outlet-level performance. Chery also used the night to spotlight individual stories from the people behind the counters, in the service bays and on showroom floors, those who deal directly with customers every day and keep operations moving.

One of the names highlighted was Norfarlyana Ahmad Afandi from Chery Glenmarie, who was one of five recipients of the Top Service Advisor 2025 award. Her story stood out because she did not begin in a customer-facing role. According to Chery, she previously worked in administration before moving into service advising, despite not having prior experience in that area.

She credited Chery’s internal training programmes for helping her make that switch, saying the sessions gave her a better understanding of customer expectations, the products themselves and the level of service required in the role. “When you understand the product well, you can explain things better with confidence with my customers, that’s how I learned,” she said, adding that she is grateful to receive the award, knowing her hard work has paid off.

Another individual recognised was Christy Ching from Chery Puchong, operated by CNO Autohaus Sdn Bhd, who was named Top Sales Manager of the Year. In her remarks, Ching spoke openly about working in an industry that has traditionally been dominated by men, and shared a personal experience that shaped her journey. “It hasn’t always been easy to stand out, I was once turned down for a role because of my gender,” she shared.

She continued, “What makes a difference is being in an environment that values equal opportunity. I’m grateful to be part of the Chery brand, where people are recognised for their ability and effort, and where women are given the space to grow and contribute. That support encouraged me to keep improving, keep building myself, and keep moving forward.”

Also among the standout names of the night was Ivy Tan Shiuh Ling from Chery Perai, operated by Carshen Motors Sdn Bhd, who was named Top Sales Advisor 2025 champion after recording the highest number of registrations.

Chery said her result came from consistent performance and a strong focus on customer engagement. Tan said staying prepared and being there for customers were among the main reasons behind her results, even as the brand’s model range continues to grow and requires sales staff to constantly stay updated.

Beyond the major titles, several other dealerships were also recognised for specific areas of performance. Chery Setia Alam was named Top Body and Paint Outlet, while Chery Ipoh took the Top Service Centre award.

These awards, along with the rest of the night’s results, show that Chery is not just rewarding headline sales numbers, but also measuring how well dealers are performing in aftersales, customer engagement and day-to-day operations.

Other winners included Chery Sungai Petani for Best Ground Marketing Activation, Chery Kuching for Best Digital Marketing, Chery Bangi for Best Customer Engagement, Chery Glenmarie for Best Facilities and Compliance, Chery Puchong for Best SSI Outlet, and Chery Desa Jaya for Best Insurance Take Up Rate.
