Denza Z9 GT previewed in Malaysia; launch confirmed

 KUALA LUMPUR: BYD-owned Denza made its grand entry into the Malaysian market with the launch of the D9 earlier this morning. Along with the electric MPV, one more Denza EV took centre stage at the exciting event, called the Z9 GT.

The Denza Z9 GT is a four-door cruiser with a hatchback-style opening, giving the impression of a budget-friendly Porsche Panamera. It measures 5,180 mm in length, 1,990 mm in width and has a wheelbase of 3,125 mm.

While it is available in both EV and PHEV versions in China, the unit presented in Malaysia incorporated a plug-in hybrid setup. Well, both versions offer an amazing blend of performance and range -

As for enhanced comfort and handling on different terrains, the upcoming Denza PHEV features a dual-chamber air suspension with ground clearance varying between 105 and 155 mm. Adding to the maneuverability is a rear-wheel steering (20° angle) with a turning radius reduced to 4.62 m. The Z9 GT features diagonal movement, making it useful for off-road challenges and tight parking situations.

The design and feature highlights of the Denza Z9 GT include - 

• A sleek and low-slung design with a sweeping roofline and sculpted side panels
• Dual-tier headlights and full-width tail lights with hourglass graphics

• A luxurious cabin wrapped in Nappa leather 
• Expansive dashboard with a floating center console and multiple screens, including widescreen instrument and passenger displays
• ‘Zero-gravity’ lie-flat front passenger seat
• Devialet sound system with rising speakers
• Two fridges - one in the front armrest and the second in the rear seat area
• Panoramic glass roof with sliding sunshades 

Denza Malaysia remains tight-lipped on the Z9 GT price point. However, for an idea, we can refer to the Chinese market, where the PHEV is priced between CNY 334,800 (RM 204,120) and CNY 414,800 (RM 252,894).
