F48 BMW X1 Launched in Malaysia with a Price Tag of RM280k

Kuala Lumpur: BMW Group Malaysia has finally unveiled the new BMW X1 in Malaysia. Globally revealed in June, X1 made its public debut at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show. Apart from being BMW's smallest SUV, it has also got conventional SUV looks, a well-appointed cabin along with improved space. The second generation F48 X1 is available in Malaysia as an sDrive20i with a price tag of RM279,800.

Under the hood, the X1 sDrive20i is powered by a twin-scroll turbo 2.0-litre four cylinder engine which churns out a maximum power of 192 hp along with a peak torque of 280 Nm. Further, it is mated to an eight-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox which sends power to the front wheels. From a position of halt, it reaches an acceleration of 100 kmph in 7.7 seconds along with a top speed of 225 kmph. Moreover, it delivers a combined fuel consumption of 5.9 litres per 100 km.

Talking about the dimensions, the new X1 is 4,439 mm long, 1,821 mm wide and 1,598 mm tall. Basically, it has been designed in a way to bring it in line with bigger siblings like X3 and X5. Further, it has got auto LED headlights and 18-inch double spoke wheels with tires measuring 225/50 R18 as standard. This car is made available with five exterior colour options which are Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Mineral Grey, Chestnut Bronze and Mediterranean Blue.

Inside the cabin, it gets Dakota leather upholstery in black colour along with red highlights and Mocha. Both the driver and front passenger seats are electric along with memory. It has also got BMW Navigation Professional with 6.5-inch screen and iDrive. There is also a parallel parking assist that measures space around the car and steers it automatically into the slot. Moreover, it carries a boot space of 505 litres which can be further extended to 1550 litres by folding down the rear seats in 40:20:40 split.
