Facelifted Toyota Avanza enters Indonesia with 1.3-litre engine

Kuala Lumpur: Toyota Avanza Veloz ascendancy in the small MPV segment can not be repudiated anymore. The drive has made a long journey from first generation to present, and is now circulating to Indonesia. Avanza has now actually sealed its excellent position in the society. In fact, with the new Avanza 1.3-litre variant launch, MPV got the nickname 'Car million faithful' and is said to be a highly updated version of the drive. Avanza Veloz is the all-sport variant of the standard drive, and for this facelift, process of launching still remains in progress and not officially revealed. Estimated price for new Veloz 1.3-litre is conjectured to be about 215 million rupiah (RM 60,910). Giving a little insight about the vehicle, here are the clear shots of the Avanza from Indonesia. Though, there are not much changes in its appearance, the buyers will like the pretty flair of a MPV vehicle it represents.

If you look closely to the car design and specifications being an auto enthusiast, you can relate with Avanza Veloz modifications similar to Perodua's take on Axia and Myvi facelift. Plus point of Avanza's presence in the market since 2004 has become a paragon for MPV Vehicle segment in the country. This way, Avanza re-skinned becomes a strong contender in race of top end vehicle available in both manual and automatic versions.

Avanza Veloz design template has been not appointed with much changes while the face looks much similar to Honda HR-V-style. Its thick upper chrome bar runs parallel to the wide headlights placed at the corners. Moreover, the grille pattern is a honeycomb variation as opposed to plain horizontal bars which gives it somewhat Vios-like looks.

We remain thankful to Astra Daihatsu Motor for new Veloz 1.3-litre variant (which was previously 1.5-litre only) gets a new Dual VVT-i 1NR-FE engine capable of churning out 97 horsepower and 120 Nm of torque. This change in powertrain asserts to offer 15% better performance and fuel economy, and is 19% quieter. All the above kit are in, in addition to a 2-DIN touchscreen head unit with DVD player and Bluetooth, eco driving indicator, rear centre headrest and three-point seatbelts for all passengers.
