KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Malaysia is celebrating Malaysia Day by highlighting the real-world experiences of three Honda Hybrid owners who drive the City e:HEV, Civic e:HEV RS and CR-V e:HEV RS.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Which Honda models are featured in the customer stories?

Honda City e:HEV, Civic e:HEV RS and CR-V e:HEV RS are featured in the customer stories, as part of the brand’s Malaysia Day celebration.
  • What does Honda’s e:HEV technology offer?

The Honda e:HEV technology aims to combine fuel efficiency with responsive performance and the brand’s “Joy of Driving” experience.
  • The three owners, Ms Shangkari Kumaran, who drives the City e:HEV, Mr Mohamad Sabri Bin Hassan, who drives the Civic e:HEV RS, and Mr Lionel Soon Pow Yik, who drives the CR-V e:HEV RS, share how Honda’s electrified technology brings fuel efficiency, responsive performance and confident joy to their every journey.

City e:HEV owner highlights fuel savings and convenience

Ms. Shangkari Kumaran, who switched from the City to the City e:HEV, has experienced noticeable savings in her fuel expenses. She used to spend more than RM 200 a month on fuel with the City, but now her monthly fuel expenses are around RM 150. Beyond the financial benefits, she also highlights the car’s quietness, comfort and stability, and the Honda CONNECT feature as part of her ownership journey.

“The savings are something I can see in my monthly expenses. My Honda Hybrid is also quiet, comfortable and stable on longer journeys. After two years without any major issues, I feel very satisfied with how reliable and fuel-efficient it has been,” said Ms. Shangkari.

Mr. Mohamad Sabri Bin Hassan, who drives the Civic e:HEV RS, mentioned that the hybrid sedan enables him to travel more than twice the distance on a full tank compared to his previous vehicle. A trip to Kelantan particularly stood out for him as he arrived at his destination with fuel remaining in the tank.

He also values the digital meter display and Honda SENSING driver-assistive technologies of the Civic hybrid, making longer journeys more comfortable.

“The Civic e:HEV is quiet, powerful and smooth. Its pickup feels more responsive than a conventional CVT car, especially in the city, while the fuel savings allow me to travel much farther on a full tank,” said Mr. Sabri.

CR-V e:HEV RS owner highlights practicality and efficiency

Mr. Lionel Soon Pow Yik, who owns CR-V e:HEV RS highlighted the versatility and fuel efficiency of the hybrid SUV. He appreciates its digital meter design, BOSE sound system and spacious cabin that gives his daughter room to invite friends along and carry more belongings.

One of his memorable experiences involved a friendly mileage challenge with his wife, where they competed to see who could achieve the best fuel economy.

“For me, it is the best balance of power, economy and practicality. There is enough torque and acceleration when I need to overtake, yet I do not have to refuel as often. The space works very well for my family, and my daughter loves being able to bring her friends along,” said Lionel.

Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Narushi Yazaki, said, "We sincerely thank our customers for their continued trust in Honda and our e:HEV technology. At Honda, we believe electrification should go beyond efficiency by continuing to deliver the ‘Fun to Drive’ experience and Joy of Driving that have always been at the heart of our brand."
