KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Malaysia celebrates the big win of the CR-V that dominated the mid-size SUV category in 2024. The brand’s flagship SUV ruled the sales chart with a total sales of 11,300 units, grabbing a 36% market share in the category.

    Honda Malaysia's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura, said, “Since its launch in December 2023, the CR-V has received strong market acceptance, which further solidified its dominant position. This growing demand is reflected in its remarkable 40% year-on-year growth in its segment. Notably, the CR-V was the 3rd best-selling model in Honda Malaysia’s lineup in 2024.”

    If we look at the variant-wise performance, the petrol-powered models performed exceptionally well, with the E variant remaining the customers' top choice with a sales contribution of 40%. The introduction of the hybrid 2.0L e:HEV RS also gave a boost to the overall demand, accounting for 20% of total sales. Notably, the electrified CR-V holds a commanding 87% market share in the mid-size SUV hybrid segment.

The SUV comes with a versatile boot measuring 589 liters in capacity; this can be expanded up to 1,072 litres when the seats are laid flat.     Smooth riding experience

    As mentioned, the Honda CR-V comes in both pure ICE and hybrid drivetrain options, offering smooth handling and excellent quietness. The petrol versions are powered by a 1.5L VTEC Turbo engine delivering a maximum power of 193 PS and a peak torque of 243 Nm. It promises a more exhilarating driving experience. 

    The 2.0L e:HEV hybrid setup, on the other hand, generates 184 PS and 335 Nm of torque.  With this outstanding high-power hybrid performance, owners can enjoy exceptional fuel efficiency with complete peace of mind.
