Honda HR-V Mugen makes debut at GIIAS 2019

KUALA LUMPUR: In early 2018, Honda Malaysia introduced the HR-V Mugen limited edition, and now that we have the facelifted model a revised Mugen is a reasonable expectation. It looks like we were heard, as it was at the GIIAS 2019 when Honda revealed the new HR-V Mugen edition.

The Honda HR-V Mugen is based on the 1.5L Special Edition. In Indonesia, the B-segment SUV is available in two engine options - a 1.5-litre mill offering 120 PS and 145 Nm and a bigger 1.8-litre unit churning 139 PS and 169 Nm.

From the outside, the new Mugen edition looks better than the previous model; it gets a thick chrome grille instead of a silver one seen earlier. Also, included in its exterior profile is grey front bumper extensions, the same tone is also found on rear bumper and side skirts. Like the car before it, this one too stands on 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels that are wrapped in 215/55 tyres. The vehicle features a small Mugen moniker on the front wing and a decal with famous Mugen logo with color surrounding the headlight opening.

The Indonesia-spec Honda HR-V Mugen model is equipped with a unique hooded rear spoiler done in silver and a shark fin antenna. This car carries a price tag of Rp 344 juta that’s approx. RM 101,375, it is Rp 10 juta costlier than the standard model. Looks like a great deal, isn't it? Especially for a car with a subtle aero kit package along with the horsepower-adding Mugen moniker.
