Hot demand, longer wait: Certain Proton S70 models has 3-month queue - Is It worth the wait?

According to the automotive portal Motoqar, which gathered information from the Proton S70 Malaysian Community Facebook page, Proton has indicated that the waiting period for the delivery of the S70 model ranges from two to three months.

According to their report, the most popular variant is the S70 Flagship, with Marine Blue being the most frequently ordered colour.

As a result, customers who have ordered this particular variant and colour can expect a waiting period of approximately three months from the date their hire purchase loan is approved.

Last month, Proton announced that the Proton S70 had reached an impressive milestone of 900 orders per week, bringing the total number of orders to over 3,000 units. The delivery of this sedan began this month, with 109 units having been registered last year.

The Proton S70 is Proton’s first C-segment sedan under the co-operation with Geely. You’ve got a few options to choose from, with four different variants available. Price-wise, it starts at a pretty sweet RM73,800 and tops off at RM94,800, making it a decent choice for those looking for something in that range.

When it comes to colour choices for the Proton S70, Marine Blue is definitely leading the pack in popularity. However, if you're looking to speed up the delivery process or simply prefer a different hue, there's a diverse palette to choose from.

Options include the classic Snow White, the sleek Armour Silver, the understated Space Grey, the vibrant Passion Red, the unique Teal Bayou Green, and the elegant Quartz Black. Keep in mind, though, that some of these colours are exclusive to specific variants of the S70, so your choice might be influenced by the model you select.

 

Under the hood of every Proton S70, you'll find a zippy 1.5L turbocharged engine, the same one that's been doing wonders in the popular Proton X50. This engine packs a punch with 150PS of power and 226Nm of torque, offering a nice blend of pep and power. Plus, it's paired with a slick 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, which really amps up the efficiency and responsiveness. It makes for a pretty smooth and enjoyable driving experience overall.
