Proton records 16.3% growth in October; Saga hits 12-year sales high

KUALA LUMPUR: October proved to be a remarkable month for Proton. Not only did the brand introduce its two highly anticipated models - the 2026 Saga and the e.MAS 5 EV, but also achieved the highest monthly sales volume of 2025. 

Proton sold a total of 15,575 units (group sales including export) in the month of October, representing a growth of 16.3% over the previous month. It brings the company’s year-to-date sales volume to 129,872 units, which is 3% ahead of 2024.

The Total Industry Volume is estimated to have risen by 32.3% to 77,377 units in October, marking the highest level in 2025. With two full sales months still to come, the Malaysian automotive industry is set to surpass the 800,000-unit mark and lead all countries in the ASEAN region, just like in 2024

Proton sales highlights - October 2025

Proton Saga (Outgoing model)	Continues to be Proton’s best-selling model with 8,373 units sold in October (highest monthly sales since July 2013), pushing it to second place in national sales YTD sales: 59,107 units
Proton X50	2,693 units sold in October YTD sales: 23,847 units, up 24.7% compared to the previous year 10,418 units sold since the launch of the new model on 24 July 2025
Proton X90	Ranked as the best-selling D-segment SUV in Malaysia with 209 units sold in October, 7.7% higher than September
Proton S70	Maintaining the lead in the C-segment sedan category with 1,402 units sold in October, 43.2% higher than September  YTD sales: 14,341 units
Proton X70	680 units sold in October, 56.3% higher than September YTD sales: 6,713 units
Proton Persona	Recorded monthly sales of 1,215 units in October, 4.7% higher than September
Proton e.MAS 7	Continues to dominate the Malaysian EV sales market with 758 units sold in October YTD sales: 7,413 units

Bookings for the all-new Proton Saga are now open in Malaysia, with an estimated price ranging from RM 40k to RM 50k. Early customers who book the new Saga from 10 November until the official launch date, and complete registration by 31 December 2025, will be entitled to get a 1-Year or 20,000 km complimentary service (including labour and parts) and a special edition Saga Touch n Go card.
