iCAUR V23 off-road EV previewed in Malaysia, est. price revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: Chery’s sub-brand iCAUR entered the Malaysian automotive market earlier this year with the launch of the iCAUR 03, marking the brand’s first step into the local EV arena. The Chinese automaker is now gearing up for its next big launch, the iCAUR V23. 

Ahead of the official arrival, the upcoming off-road EV has been previewed in right-hand drive form, offering an early look at its rugged styling and capabilities. Notably, the V23 was earlier shown in left-hand drive form at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025.

iCAUR Malaysia has revealed the preliminary specifications and estimated pricing for the EV, and has begun accepting registrations of interest. Let’s check out all the details. 

iCAUR V23: Estimated price 

The iCAUR V23 will be offered in two variants in Malaysia - 2WD and iWD, with an estimated price starting at RM 145,000.

iCAUR V23: Dimensions and design 

The upcoming iCAUR EV measures 4,220 mm in length, 1,915 mm in width, 1,845 mm in height and spans a wheelbase of 2735 mm. The boot space is estimated at 234 litres, which is expandable up to 1,366 litres. These dimensions highlight the capability to deliver a stable driving experience and a comfortable interior layout.

Speaking of design, the vehicle boasts a retro-futuristic boxy design that balances sleek urban practicality with a bold road presence. 

Key exterior highlights include:

• Squared-off fenders 
• Distinctive flush-mounted handles
• Horizontal tail lamps 
• A side-opening tailgate with a decorative rear element shaped like a backpack
• 19-inch wheels as standard (21-inch with the top-spec variant)

With a minimum ground clearance of 200 mm, the V23 has a wading depth of 600 mm, an approach angle of 42 degrees and a departure angle of 40 degrees.

iCAUR V23: interior and safety 

The iCAUR V23 features a bold, rugged interior design that underpins the brand’s futuristic and technology-driven philosophy. It incorporates an 8.88-inch compact circular driver display, a 15.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, sporty seats, premium materials and refined finishes, creating a sophisticated and immersive atmosphere.

The off-road SUV comes equipped with a 540-degree “transparent chassis” camera and Level 2 ADAS capabilities with features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and autonomous emergency braking.
