It’s official: BYD SEAL 6 EV global debut in Malaysia on 26 Sep
KUALA LUMPUR: Finally, the mystery has been solved. The cryptic teasers BYD Malaysia has been dropping since the beginning of this month are for the upcoming Seal 6. Yes, this is the next big reveal from the world’s EV giant, set to make its first international debut in Malaysia on 26 September 2025.

Unveiled in China earlier this year, the BYD Qin L EV is an electric midsize sedan that rivals the likes of the EVs like the Tesla Model 3 and the Deepal SL03. It is built on the same BYD e-Platform 3.0 Evo platform that we can find under the Sealion 7.
To get an idea of what the BYD Seal 6 brings to the table, let’s take a look at the BYD Qin L EV’s price and specifications in China.

Starting with the price, the EV is priced between CNY 119,800 (RM 71,028) and CNY 139,800 (RM 82,886) in the Chinese market. In the first week of launch in the country, the eco-friendly sedan grabbed over 10,000 orders, indicating a strong market demand.
The BYD Qin L EV measures 4720 mm in length, 1880 mm in width, 1495 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2820 mm. Compared to the regular Seal, it is 80 mm shorter, 5 mm wider and 35 mm taller, and has a 100 mm shorter wheelbase.

Key highlights include - a 15.6-inch floating central control screen, an 8.8-inch full LCD instrument panel, a 12-inch W-HUD, a 50W wireless smartphone charging pad, and an integrated heating and cooling refrigerator.
As for advanced driving assistance, it is equipped with BYD’s “God’s Eye” C three-camera solution, which offers high-speed navigation on autopilot, intelligent parking, automatic emergency braking, and blind spot monitoring.
Strengthening BYD’s dominance in the local EV market

Its diverse lineup includes the Atto 3, Seal, Dolphin, Sealion 7, M6, and Atto 2. The company has also confirmed plans for a CKD factory in Tanjung Malim and recently opened the country’s largest BYD 3S centre in Balakong.
With the launch of the new Seal 6, BYD aims to further strengthen its dominance in a market that is both price-sensitive and highly enthusiastic about EVs.
