Meet the Chinese twin of the Civic hatchback, the Honda Integra

KUALA LUMPUR:  Closely related to the latest eleventh-generation Civic, the all-new Honda Integra has recently made its debut in China. The five-door hatchback is built under the umbrella of the GAC-Honda (Guangqi Honda) partnership and is expected to be limited to the Chinese market only. 

Against the measuring tape, the new Honda Integra measures 4,563 mm in length, 1,802 mm in width, and 1,415 mm in height, and spans a wheelbase of 2,735 mm. 

The car features more stylish design cues compared to its twin such as elongated LED headlights, a more sporty bumper, vertically-mounted reflectors on the rear bumper, chrome dual tailpipes with black trims, and a sportier diffuser. Further adding to the styling quotient of the hatchback is the combination of yellow paint and a black roof.

The remaining bodywork of the all-new Chinese-spec Integra remains the same as the Civic hatchback.

As for the interior, the automaker has not yet made any reveal. However, it is expected to get a similar cabin as its twin brother featuring a clean dashboard layout with a honeycomb pattern, a 7.0-inch LCD instrument display, tablet-style high-resolution 9.0-inch central touchscreen, classy leatherette upholstery, electrically-operated front seats, and enough soft-touch padding.

GAC-Honda will offer the new Honda Integra hatchback with pure ICE-powered and hybrid models. First is a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine which is good for making 180 hp of maximum power and 240 Nm of peak torque. Another option is a hybrid variant with a 2.0-litre Atkinson mill paired with an e-motor, together generating 141 hp at 6,000 rpm and 186 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. Available transmission choices include - a six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT.

While pricing for the new Honda Integra hatchback is yet to be revealed, its pre-bookings are now underway in the People's Republic.
